IS THIS TRUE OR FALSE

Stock Car Racing History

Rumor was about Kasey is that he got fired. Dont know if that true. I know he is no longer with the team. It all stemmed from what happened Saturday night and with Kasey refusing to take the car back on track because he was sick. The next day he ran a marathon and that made the head of team operations mad and so they let him go.

DALE EARNHARDTS PASS IN THE GRASS AT CHARLOTTE DID NOT HAPPEN

Stock Car Racing History

I was at this race. It was actually my first Cup race that I have ever went to. It was a great one to say the least. Johnny, it may never been a complete pass but it was holding off a charge from Bill Elliott. It happened right in front of me and my dad. I was never a Dale Earnhardt fan but with him sliding off into the grass the way he did and holding his line and keeping the lead like he did just showed what driving ability the man had. So really I dont care if it was a pass or not. It was great driving for one of the last true racers in Nascar. To me the 80's was the last decade that the old Nascar held true until corporate America took it over and the money poured in and that they cared less about what the fans thought.

The Nascar Hall of Fame

General

All in all this isn't surprising. This is how screwed up Nascar is now. David, Bobby and Lee I have no problem with. I think Ned Jarrett and Bud Moore should have gone next year or the year after. Raymond Parks defintely should have went this year. I have a feeling it will be 5 to 10 years from now before he gets in, if in that span. I think Tim Flock should have been in this year also. But my opinion dont mean a hill of beans to Nascar anyways. But they are for the fans though. Yeah right!

"I'm a POT-HOLE"

Current NASCAR

Hey Bobby. I loved how Darrell kissed up when Brian France was up in the booth. Its amazing how Nascar does it to itself again. It was actually a very good race until the pot holes. Why does it take 32 years to pave a track. I could see if Daytona didnt make any money. But please! One thing I noticed that Darrell's mouth was still bigger than the pothole. There isnt a hole big enough to match that one on his face.

Just my thoughts. Don't blame Jeff or Racers Reunion

Totally agree. I have always thought Jamie McMurray has always been a class act. After today I gained so much more respect. Showing the emotion he did, showed me is one of the ones I can count on one hand that has class and is a true human being. And now to Darrell. He showed his true idiot side with that last lap call. And now to the top of the heap of the idiots, Brian France. That pot hole problem ruined what could have been a big turning point for Nascar and try to regain some of its luster. Well that all crashed and burned and it didnt help that he came on there and tried to expain it. I have one thing to say to you, Tim. Boogity Boogity Boogity! Lets go racing boys! Now if that isnt the most embarrasing thing. But coming from the source its not surprising.

How did YOU like it?

Current NASCAR

Great racing! I think its time to repave Daytona now. 32 years is too long on the same asphalt. Glad Jamie won though. And was nice to see a driver show his emotions in victory lane. Sure beats the heck out of the scripted robot driver personality.

BREAKING NEWS! MUST READ!

General

Kinda of makes sense to cover up your own drug problem and make another example of another driver that it was highly skeptical that he was doing drugs at all. To throw that attention off of yourself with possible impending problems coming up sounded like one of his schemes. If this is true, its good riddance to the spolied brat. Maybe it is possible for Nascar to dig out of the hole it made for itself.

Madhouse

Bryan, you would be fine going to Bowman Gray. I think everybody should go to that track at least once. We just need to keep the short track racing alive. Nascar has tried to do away with it and i'm glad that havent succeeded one bit at Bowman Gray. They pack that place to capacity. However cant say that about alot of other tracks I have went to. Orange County in Rougemont, NC is one. South Boston still does great, which i'm glad of. Its just sad that alot have went under the past 10 years. Bryan Ogle said:
So it's not a place you could take your family? Unless you bring a baseball bat, is that what your saying? If so I'll just watch it on TV. My dad brought me up with " what starts on the track stay's on the track" I grew up around some of the toughest drivers that ever ran in the south and they would fight every weekend but you could still sit in the stands without worrying about who you pulled for fear of being jumped.I guess my family is just not tough enough to go to B G. I will say last night's show looked to be a little calmer, and I do like Miller, old guys rule !!!!!!!!!!!!

Well said. The only thing I would dispute is Hank's comment. It's probably more like 3%. HA! All-in-all, the show represents the "Stadium" and the folks who go there well. And for those of you so worried about the reputation of the folks in the south, we'll survive , and some of other short tracks that are struggling to keep the doors open would do well to take some lessons here.

Ok, I've read alot of these posts about this show in the last week. I give every persons opinion with the utmost respect. But for the life of me I cant understand why the majority of people that replied here has something bad to say about this show and its not because they disliked it. It was because of the way the people acted on the show. Like I posted previously that my father has went to Bowman Gray and told me its just like the way it is on the show. Even yesterday at the show in Raleigh me and my dad were talking with Hank Thomas and he said about only 5% of it was "Hollywood". But the part that isnt, is that fued with the Myers and Miller. I dont care if somebody watches this show on the West Coast or Northeast US and it throws more fuel on the fire for the stereotype of southern people that we act stupid. There are people all over the world that act that crazy over something. So who cares what others think. I'm glad there is a track that actually cares and there is passion over a certain driver or drivers. Look at Cup Series today. You couldnt find anything like that in that snoozefest they have going on now. Thank you Bowman Gray for putting a great show and still having that grass roots part of racing.

Ronda I just read what you posted. Its exactly what I was telling Bobby in my post. Thats the real deal and it was not scripted and edited to make it a grand show for television. Bowman Gray is a madhouse but its like you said it brings in the fans. Ronda McKnight said:
I have been going to BG on and off agiain for almost 40 years, Allen has been going for almost 50, the sad thing is that is really the way BG is. Everything you are seeing is real. I have never been a big fan of the way things are run over there but that is what keeps the stands packed. As long as the can keep bringing in 15,000 people every Sat. night things will not change. After every race there it is routine that the cops go to the pits because more than likely there is going to be a fight, and the fans love it. It is all about the money. It is a really great track to drive. I just hate that the History Channel is puting it out there for the whole world to see.
