My two cents on the Hornaday deal. While it was definitely an overreaction, some would see it as something that was coming, given Wallace's comments after the race, where it sounded like he felt he did no wrong in using Ron up. Whereas in Kyle's case, he took out an end of season championship contender, that too while racing in a lower series for fun.
I agree, Johnny. I always loved the fact about Martinsville that as long as your mechanical grip is intact, you can run up front, no matter if your whole fender is missing. I hate how important aerodynamics are at most of the bigger tracks.
Like you say, if tracks like Martinsville dominated the schedule, we'd have far fewer templates and restrictions and cars would never have deviated as far from stock as they did. This is evident in the many road racing series where cars are still able to run pretty much stock, other than adding a rollcage and other basic necessities, because the speeds are overall quite low, just like at a short, flat track.
Wow, very impressive. Looks like the apple didn't fall too far from the tree, as they say.
I also hope they can get the site issues worked out, Tim. Almost everyone I've talked to feel that the new site is cumbersome.

However, the racecars of today are unbelievably safe, atleast on the stock car side, and that naturally makes drivers think less before making a dangerous block that can cause a major pile-up.
Amid all the hullabaloo, another good points day for eventual champion Rex White with a quiet second place.
