I did some research on them and turns out the chrome wheels used today aren't chrome, or even chrome plated. They use a process called anodization to apply aprotective layer of oxide to the wheels by electrolysis and can be any color, including chrome or gold.
I started calling Carl 'Dr. Jekyll' for being bipolar so often. Then there is also 'Needmycheck' for Nemechek due to his start-n-parking over the past few years and hiring Kevin Conway for the check (although I still respect Joe for being a racer and running the distance whenever the funds allow for it, just thought 'Needmycheck' fit his situation the past few years). Have to say, 'Candyman' is a really good one and the 'melts in the car' slogan fits the bill beautifully, LOL.
I think why Carl wasn't penalized severely last year was because Brad was warned repeatedly by NASCAR to cool it when he was going through his 'I am the second coming of Dale Earnhardt' phase back in late-2008 and most of 2009 and running into whoever and whenever he felt like. I think not penalizing Carl was their way of telling Brad we told you so. And to be fair, Dr. Edwards' treatment did do the trick as Brad has since then been a far more respectful driver and has earned others respect too.
Kyle on the other hand took out a legitimate championship contender in a series where he drops down to 'have some fun' and stink up the races on a regular basis, for what was a situation he forced Ron into in the first place.I absolutely hate to see top Cup guys like Kyle come down to stink up lower series races so I'm hoping this makes Gibbs clamp down his participation in the lower series.
What a perfectly written piece of PR propaganda. Pretty sure he did not write or mean a word of that.
While I fully agree that Vickers was a pinball all day, he did nothing to Matt to deserve getting sent into the wall other than race him hard side by side for many laps and passing him for 8th place. Matt, like a lot of the drivers these days, simply felt Vickers deserved to have his day ruined for having the audacity to race a Chaser hard. That aside, Matt was the one who made the mistake that caused the most damage to his car anyway, when he overshot Turn 3 and ran into Kyle.
