Hello all....working on a video for the NASCAR Hall of Fame induction ceremony and i am looking for some very early Lee Petty photos, specifically his first win at Heidelberg, Oct 49' or his second win at Hillsboro, Oct 1950. Also anything from Daytona 1954 and the 1954 season....Figured this group would be a great place to start.

So with all the talk about NASCAR "fixing" things, here's a couple suggestions: First start by making the cars something people can RECOGNIZE...The sport was built on the shoulders of fans who rooted for and against Ford, Chevy and Chrysler. (see Holman Moody, Bud Moore and Cotton Owens) Secondly try to make the drivers something the fans can relate to. Again, the sport was built by drivers who worked on their cars, had grease under their nails and didn't complain because the car was "aero loose." (see Cale Yarborough and David Pearson) and lastly, REMEMBER YOUR PAST. Most drivers wouldn't know Curtis Turner if he popped out of the grave, punched them in the mouth and stole their woman. All other major sports embrace their past and their heroes. You might notice that those sports are doing pretty well.......Just my opinion, i could be wrong....

Everyone will happy to know that I received a follow up email from our Ebay friend and he indicated that he has removed "all" of his racing photos from his store. It appears that he finally got the message....

Great observation. The watermark you see on his images is applied when he lists the items online. It is part of the scanning process. However that watermark is obviously not on the original. The images in my online database have a watermark directly across the center of the image and cannot be removed unless a hires images is downloaded, once paid for.

As far as the images on RR, i would need to talk a little more with Jeff to understand how he is storing the images. However, most of the software used to process photos has a "watermark" feature that can be applied to a large number of images with just one click of the mouse. A RR watermark on the site would be a GREAT idea.

Score one for Racer's Reunion....Due in part to your collective efforts this guy sent me an email saying he was removing ALL photos for which he didn't have the original negative. A good first step. Obviously i will keep my eyes open for additional items, but good news so far....Thanks to all....

Andy...Thanks for the heads up.. I have had several issues with this particular seller. The first time I contacted him about copyrighted material he was selling he took it down. Last week after I contacted him about several others, he hasn't removed them. therefore not only am i going to contact ebay, i am also sending him a cease and desist letter from my attorney. THIS GUY HAS TO BE STOPPED...I ordered and image from him when I first discovered them and they are very POOR quality prints....
