Jerry Sims passed.

General

Ann and I express our deepest sympathy for the family of Mr. Sims. When I met him at The Historic Columbia Speedway his enthusiasm for life and for racing came through like warm sunshine. He will be missed but we are so fortunate to have had him with us. God bless the family.

Trivia

Was Sara dancing with the "cars" to compete with her daughter Bristol who was dancing with the "stars". You're right, I missed it.

LOOSELY RELATED

General

As I have done for the last uncountable number of years, I watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade today. As always, the parade, with the exception of the inclusion of the disgusting Kanye West, was an awesome spectacle. However, the one thing that really caught my attention was a commercial. The commercial had a music background with scenes from a failed rocket launch by NASA, Popeye getting thrown into the ocean, a boxer getting KOed, Evel Knevele in one of his worst crashes and other such disasters or semi-disasters. At the end were the words "we all fall sometimes" then a pause and then "thank you for helping us get back on our feet". Then a pause and then the General Motors "GM" and "since 1908." Sort of struck a nerve with me. Guess GM means a lot to The Legend because GM has, and continues, to mean a lot to racing.

God bless you all, and may your Thanksgiving be a truly blessed and safe one.

Tim

An interesting piece wrote pertaining Jr's crew chief or???

Current NASCAR

Johnny, I don't think it was ever even considered to split up Jimmy and Chad. That would come under the label of "bonehead:" and would certain qualify Rick Hendrick to take over the rein of NASCAR when Sir Brian abdicates. I hope the switch over is the advantage Junior needs. I would like to see him do well but I think that would take much more than a crew chief swap. Good luck Junior.

PUT ON YOUR CRASH HELMETS FOLKS.

Administrative

Ok, folks, 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time tonight, right here on Racers Reunion Radio. Racing Through History. Jeff, Big D, Cody, Bill, Bobby, and Jack all here, along with me. I'll be making statements about the the 2010 Champion as well as Denny and Kevin which are sure to generate hate e-mails. I have hired body guards and they are pretty tough dudes. So, take your blood pressure medicines and listen in. I already know one dude who is going to go off the deep end when he hears some of my comments!

More Petty News

General

That is exactly what I expected to happen but I did not anticipate going back to the name Petty Enterprises. That is awesome!!! It will be great to see the Petty Enterprises name out there again and it may be that such a change will bring about much to cheer.Tim

Now you know why Racers Reunion Will survive if you watched sundays parade in Homestead

Current NASCAR

Personal Note to Robert Staley: Most of us on here are right with you in what you say. Go to the archives of the Tuesday night show, Racing Through History, and listen to the Legendtorial regarding our love for NASCAR. It explains, or tries to, that we love what NASCAR did, and can do again, but we regret that NASCAR gave up listening to the fans but, instead, listens to the big buck corporations with the fickle minds that support them one month and the next find the involvment in the sport too expensive, too redneck, too out of the mainstream, and a thousand other reasons. I have personally been a NASCAR fan for 58 of my 64 years. I fully realize that we can't go back to the 50s, but we surely do not need to continue down this road of becoming an Indy version of motorsports with a roof on the car. Even all Indy cars to not look exactly alike, there is some distinction. All most of us want here is for real cars to be driven by real drivers. Many drivers today are very good and some will achieve greatness. Then there are others who will learn, perhaps in a season or two, to remove the cap from the Coke bottle before trying to earn their bonus money for drinking the product on camera.Tim
