I'm sorry but I just can't read this. The man makes no sense whatsoever. He contradicts himself constantly and insults, OMG!, us so called "purists". We once were referred to as "die hard fans", but now we are "purists". Either way, we contributed to the success of this sport, lined his pockets, and as such, are reducing his empire to rubble week in and week out. Just look at the grandstands every week. He never understood that the new crop of "fans" he wants to cultivate for the most part, don't have the attention span of a knat.
Makes me sick.
Except for this ~
Something about this whole thing smells. They commented today on the NASCAR Channel on Sirius, that they test at the start of the season at Daytona, then randomly whenever, but virtually never after a race is over. It has always felt like they zeroed in on A.J. at Kentucky. I want to know why?
It just doesn't make any sense.
Penske issued a statement saying they would release exactly what the substance was. Heard on NASCAR on Sirius today.
God Bless, RJR and the Winston Brand for all it did for NASCAR. I still refer to it as the Winston series and nothing chaps my behind like someone referring to so and so, a 7 time Nextel/Sprint Cup Champion! It's just so inaccurate. Just refer to them as NASCAR Cup Champions and do away with this hocum garbage. I can guarantee those trophies they have say Winston on them. As they should.
Well, I can truthfully say, I haven't got a clue. Bobby Allison did race at Saugus and it wouldn't be beyond the realm of possibilty. They filmed at Ascot a number of times, as well as Saugus.
I know Jimmy raced into the '80s and is in the West Coast HOF. I have no idea what he ended up doing, but I'm sure it was a financial thing and the fact the NASCAR went so huge in the '70's. If I hear anything or stumble across any further info, I'll sure post it. He was tho, one of the West Coast guys who went the furthest.
That's OK, Dave. Everything, and I mean everything is on Ancestry.com. First time that site has really come in handy for me.
But you have no idea how much I appreciate your research on this. I spoke to my sister-in-law today. She'll be in Carson City when I get there and she's going to search through some stuff out there and hopefully we'll get more cool pictures. She has a lot in Yuma, but she travels around the country with her "significant other" now and won't be back there for awhile. I just have so few, but there'll will be more.
Wasn't able to pull that up, Dave. But remember I am challenged ! But I was able to pull this up on Ancestry.com.
And I just found out my little blue dog Doc who is showing in agility out in Reno may be on TV tonite. Yippee!
