Joe Lane Columbia Speedway '71
Late Model driver Joe lane was as competitive as anyone and could win at any track. Lane was seriously injured in a wreck at Columbia in 1974 and was one of the reasons track promoter Don Sharpe closed the very dangerous track early in the season. The track re-opened in 1975, but closed after a few races because many of the drivers were afraid to race there anymore.
