Kurt Busch Calls Johnson 5-Time Chump, Denies Remarks, Destroys Reporter's Notes at Richmond

General

What about Kurt's agression towards Menzer ? Walking away can be the hardest thing to do. Kurt should take a lesson from his younger brother who is very good at walking away from themedia.

Looks like Buddy was running a 1970 Dodge Charger in this race.

Hendrick Motorsports 1-2 at Atlanta as Jeff Gordon Wins 85th

General

What a difference a crew chief can make comparing last year to this year. Regardless Gordon is one of the best ever.

One Writer's Top-10 Favorite "Incidents"

General

To finsih the Lund Petty story. Lund said of the tussle when Elizabeth dropped him to a knee with that purse. "I finally met a Petty that could hit".

Fonty flock told of another Curtis Turner story. After one of those bull rings in which Curtis roughed up another driver on track the other driver clobbered him with a tire iron. They thought Turner was dead as a lay in the mud out cold.

Back to the Petty Allison deal. A couple of years before their famous clash at Wilkes there was a problem at one of the northern short tracks. Maurice got a hold of Bobby pretty bad to the point that NASCAR suspended Maurice for a few races. This blood had been boiling for awhile. It was not really finished untill the fall event at Wilkeboro in 1977. Petty was leading the race walking away from the field untill Bobby pinched him in the 4th turn sending Richard head one into the end of the pit wall ending his day.

Great stuff Dave

Chime in please: Kyle Busch/Elliott Sadler

General

I am not going to wave a flag for Kyle Bush. I just watched the Bristol deal on youtube. The problem is that Kyle did not know or realised what happened and or his spotter did not cool him off after the fact or Kyle did not cool off period.

That was a racing deal and not intential contact but as we have seen soo many times in recent years it is all about payback. NASCAR's have at it mentality has watered the sport even more. Sure it is nothing new to see competitors get mad at eachother. The best in the business do not play this kind of game but again NASCARhas created a culture that nurtures unsportsmanlike conduct even among it's top drivers.

Kyle Bush is a good driver, not a great one. The kid needs to grow up and act like a man instead of a punk rock star. He could nothold Petty's, Pearson's or Cale's jackstand then, now or at any time.

Being the best is more than knowing how to drive a car it is what is inside. When the kid finally looks inside he will then now what it takes to be the best.
