Special for all my Racers Reunion Friends. Act quickly!!!!!

General

The State Newspaper article this morning, Sunday, March 7, 2010, page C13, written by George Diaz of the Orlando Sentinal states that Tim Tebow, the University of Florida quarterback with all the perfect marketing assets, is now charging $160.00 for his autograph. That is ONE HUNDRED SIXTY AND 00/100 ($160.00) Dollars for an autograph!!!!! Scottie Pippen wants over $700.00 for an autographed jersey. Oh, the article goes on to explain why and how these stars are entitled to such fees for autographs and it's up to you to decide whether or not those reasons are actually worthy of acceptance. I have known that baseball players have, for years, charged to sign autographs but for whatever absurd reason, baseball players are presumed to be the God-like creatures of the sports world.

So, friends and Racers Reunion members, here's my special arrangment for each of you:

My autograph on plain paper: $ 35.00

My autograph on a poster NOT including my picture:$ 65.00

My autograph on a poster CONTAINING my picture:$100.00

My autograph on a Hanes white t-shirt: $125.00

My autograph on a Hanes colored t-shirt:$150.00

My autograph on a Racers Reunion t-shirt:$200.00

Ok, folks, there you have it. Please do not quote these prices to non Racers Reunion members as these prices at only for you. I can assure you that my autograph is much moreglamorous than Tim Tebow's. I've seen his. Looks like a kindergartner's first attempt at cursive writing. Sorry, Tim, but that's my opinion and guys whogave away free autographs a couple hundred years ago on a certain document gives me the right to say it.

Tim

march 1st 1970

James is one of the finest. I pulled for him when he raced, he helped me when I raced, and every time I see him on the track I think of what could have been if he hadn't been taken advantage of so many times by sponsors such a Pop Cola. James is truly one of the best of the sport, ever.

Prayers for Paul Lewis requested

General

We have just received information that Paul Lewis has been hospitalized but the reason for the hospitalization is not known at this time. All of us at Racers Reunion need to pray for Paul, not only because he is the reason this site exists, but also because he is one awesome race driver and an incredible person. Being around Paul always leaves you feeling special as he goes out of his way to magnify the positive things in every person he meets. What a wonderful trait to have!

So, folks, join us in praying for Paul's quick and complete recovery.

I listened to myself on Racers ReunionRadio last night.

Jim, you were awesome! Ann and I talked afterwards about how interesting your recollections are. We thoroughly enjoyed it. If you're senile, then I shall anxiously await my diagnosis!!!! I am looking forward to seeing you at the Love Chevrolet Columbia Speedway Racers Reunion in April. Bring lots of stories with you.Tim

Low attendance at California... again.

General

Yes, BT, everyone agrees with you on this one for sure, with the exception of maybe occupants of the office building on Volusia Avenue. As to Richard Guido's reply, Richard, you are on top of it guy! I loved the part about LA freeway traffic. Keep up the good thoughts guys. This is great.

Low attendance at California... again.

General

When Ann and I were watching the race, the first camera pass by the turn grandstands, I was astounded. It was practically empty. I immediately began to wait for the main grandstand camera shot and there was NEVER a good shot of the main grandstands. 56,000 huh? We had 25,000 less than that at track where no races had run in 30 plus years and there wasn't even a race that day. Something is really wrong with that picture. Rockingham would be great, North Wilkesboro would be great, and I will alway crusade to have the Southern 500 back in Darlington on Labor Day weekend. Even if NASCAR only wants to go back to 1980 for its historic beginnings.

PLEASE BEWARE! THIS IS TOTALLY SCARY TO ME

General

I did get home from the grandson's soccer game today at lap 61 of the AutoClub Speedway whatever it happened to be called this year race. I was under the impression, from what I read, that the broadcast would start at 3:00 and the race would take the green flag at 4:00. Obviously that was not the case as I was here by 4:15 and they were just completing lap 61. I did not think it was as boring as previous races at Fontana, in fact, some of the racing was really close and competitive. I must it admit it would have been much more enjoyable were it not for the "vortex" emminating from the mouth of a certain individual of extremely limited intelligence who just happens to have access to a Fox broadcast microphone.

My reason for concern, and for the warning issued herewith, is what was said at the end of the broadcast today regarding Junior Johnson and Ned Jarrett appearing in Las Vegas next week with "historic" NASCAR race cars to enhance the "historic" significance of NASCAR returning to its roots. After the mention at Daytona, twice as a matter of fact, that NASCAR history begins with 1980, I would almost drive to Vegas to see what is going to be presented. However, as a card-carrying member of Racers Reunion, I cannot subject myself to the abuse of NASCAR's version of how it perceives it's roots.

So, folks, if you go to Vegas, let me know how it goes. Please, however, please beware and please watch out for the vortex!

Tim
