Augusta LMS Results, May 31,1969
Jack Ingram of Asheville, NC returned to the Augusta Speedway for the first time in almost a year to win the 40-lap Late Model Sportsman race on May 31st, 1969. Tommy Porter of Savannah, GA jumped out to an early lead, but was overtaken by Ingram on the 7th lap. Ingram went on to lead the remaining laps driving his 1955 Chevrolet over the ½ paved track.
Looks like my uncle, Buzzy Turner, had a good night finishing 4th. Also, my friend J.W. Boatwright had a good finish, too. I am sure I was there that night. I didn't miss many at Augusta during that time. Thanks, Jack.
