I aggree, Ken. What a cool thing to do when you tie someone's record. Kyle actually is a very intense guy, though quite shy. Just something happens when he gets behind the wheel of a race machine.God bless you, and Sam too.Edwin

Racing for the fans by the fans....

Current NASCAR

I think it will be outstanding. We are currently in need of funding for the pilot. We have everything else set in place. We have a very comptrehensive business plan as well, that includes scripts. If you know anyone who may be interested, have them email me. We are willing to sell 25% of this program for the funding. Thanks,Edwin

Racing for the fans by the fans....

Current NASCAR

That's right. There's a new reality TV program in the works where fans who have never driven or competed in a race car can do so for some fabulous prizes. The series is set to start production in March of '09 at Memphis Motorsports Park 3/4 mile race track. Contestant requirements are: age 18-82, drive a stick shift, be able to climb in and out of a race car, and NO prior race car experience. This is sure to be a smash hit with the legions of race fans far and wide. This company is not affiliated with NASCAR at this time ,but will be using Nationwide Series type race cars for the competition. We need some funding to take us to the next level, which is shooting the pilot and recruiting applicants. The later should not be a problem. In fact we already have too many to deal with and have contracted with a company to screen applicants for us. We haven't even gone public yet.The producer is willing to give up 25% of ownership for an investor who brings 750k to the table. If you know of anyone interested, have them contact me at edwin_sibley@yahoo.com for more information. Once we get the pilot completed, we have sponsors already in place to make it all happen.I am going to be the track announcer for each week's episode. Applicants will be put through racing school, on track instruction, time trials and compete in a 40 lap main event. Each contestant will be graded on a points system from the time they get off the plane till time trials are concluded. The top 12 of 16 will then be in the race. Each weeks winner will be flown to Phoenix for 2 weeks for the grand finale which will be a 2 hour episode on TV and a 100 lap final race. The overall winner will receive over $250K cash, and an all expense paid trip to the '10 Daytona 500 with use of a luxury coach, limo, and VIP everything all week long. This is going to be huge folks. It's all for the fans, your fans. If you know of anyone who can help us get over the hump to the next level, please let me know immediately. This is an investment that will pay back year after year after year, as the producer and his staff are predicting at least a 10 year run. Who knows what spin offs will happen. So let me hear from you today. You or someone you know may call me at 480-399-0477 or email edwin_sibley@yahoo.com.I'll keep you posted as to our progress and application process for contestants.

My Fantasy Racer

Uncategorized

Greetings everyone. Hope you are all hitting on all eight.I was wondering if any of you have heard of "My Fantasy Racer". ( www.myfantasyracer.com ) This is a new reality TV show in the works. It takes race fans from 18-82 and makes them a race contestant. They will fly the contestants to Memphis for a week of racing school at Memphis Motorsports Park, then put them in a 40 lap race in Nationwide Series type stock cars. Then after 12 weeks of events with 16 new contestants each week, the winners will be flown to Phoenix to shoot a 2 hour special for the grand champion. GC will receive over a quarter million dollars and an all expense paid trip to the 2010 Daytona 500 including the use of a luxury motorcoach, limo, and VIP everything. You all know someone who is a huge fan, but has never driven a race car (also a requirement, no prior experience in a race car racing, and must be able to climb in and out of the race car), but always dreamed of doing so. Here's their chance. You can find all the details at the web site and the contestant registration.Episodes will begin shooting in March of '09. Spread the word. This is huge.Edwin

Should DAle earnhardt Jr start his own team?

Current NASCAR

All really good comments. Yea, driving with RCR would be tight. But driving with Hendricks is awesome too. I don't think the problem is with Jr. I think the problem is with his crewchief, Tony Eury, Jr. I just don't think Tony has what it takes to go to the top. The worst is that it's a kinfolk deal. That can be a big problem. Getting from top 5 to champion takes the right chemistry. Look at Jeff Gordon and Ray Everham as an example. As soon as Everham left Hendricks MS, Gordon has not had the right chemistry with a crewchief sense. Look at JJ and Chad. A marriage made in NASCAR heaven. Addington and Kyle Busch, dynamic winning duos. I have never seen that with Jr and Tony E. I think Jr. needs a new crew chief that can make it happen all the way to the top.

Pocono Race

Current NASCAR

I think it points out to great pit set up and strategy. Try Daytona or Talladega if you want to watch them all run bunched up. Apparently your guy did not do well. Mine didn't either. But I did not find myself "bothered" by the race and the way it unfolded.Crews are still trying to figure out this new car on each track. Look at poor Michael Waltrip. His cars are struggling at almost every track. He needs to find some new blood to help get his cars competitive. But that's not the tracks fault, nor is it this new race car.If the drivers took to the track in exactly the same vehicles with the exact same set up and tire pressures, would that make it more fun? I doubt it. I remember going to Daytona in '63 and watching Junior Johnson and Johnny Rutherford take off and put a half lap on the field in no time at all. It was not much fun unless you were a Johnson/Rutherford fan. Trouble is, that Chevy 409 would not run 500 miles. The motor came apart and Junior watched the finish from the pits. With any track and any group of drivers, the race still has to be run and won. Please remember, that behind every winner, there are 42 teams trying their very best to be the winner. Ask them. It is so difficult to win any race at any track. If it were easy to win, they would all come across the finish line together.

Long live Harry Gant and Ken Scrader, both hall of famers and outstanding people. They both are heros of NASCAR in my book.

Disaster at Indy

Current NASCAR

Well, I really don't think NASCAR will go under anytime soon. But choosing another racetrack to take the place of Indy is not a bad idea at all. As our freind above so put it, the track is simply not designed for the NASCAR venue and the COT.

Disaster at Indy

Current NASCAR

Well, Rug,It was anything but professional by NASCAR and Goodyear. One of the two biggest races of the year and as you described an "exhibition" at best. If I had paid for tickets at $200 a pop and driven 800 miles to get there, I'd have been pounding on someone's door until midnight. Then I would be calling my attorney. It was a slap in the face with a cold dead fish to all the fans, owners, crews and drivers to have to put up with such sub standard greed.EdwinSun City, Az
